Tonbogaeri

Dragonfly Kick

Tori does a front roll, extending trailing foot to kick a target about groin height, as in a axe kick.


Mae Geri

Front Kick

From a defensive stance with left foot forward, Tori shifts weight to front foot, chambers back leg and kicks straight in front with the ball of foot. Practice with low, medium and high targets.


Yoko Geri

Side Kick

From a defensive stance with left foot forward, Tori shifts weight to front, and chambers back leg, lifting knee. Tori rolls hips over to left, and kicks with outside of right foot. Targets are knee and ribs.


Mawari Geri

Roundhouse Kick

From a defensive stance with left foot forward, Tori shifts weight to front, and swings right leg in an arc, striking the short ribs with shin and perhaps instep.


Ryoashi Geri

Dual Foot Kick

Tori steps toward target strongly with left foot. Right knee comes up, creating lift. Both feet kick target, with feet sideways and right foot on top. Tori performs face fall for soft landing.


Mae Tobi Geri

Front Flying Kick

From a defensive stance, Tori shifts weight to left foot, and brings right knee up as if to chamber. Knee lift creates lift, and Tori kicks with left in a Mae Geri
